Step 1: Pre-Inspection

Our technician starts with a walk-through inspection with you. Then we note soiling conditions, carpet construction, your concerns, and any stains that may be permanent.

Step 2: Furniture Moving

We will move a sofa at your request for no extra charge, unlike other competitors!

Step 3: Pre-Spot

During the walk-through, we identify the types of spots. Then we may pre-treat them with specific pH neutralizing sprays. Also, don’t worry: all our products are green and safe for the family!

Step 4: Pre-Spray and Pre-Groom

Next, we pre-condition your carpet with the right product to suspend the soil, so soil and spots come out more easily. Our pre-conditioner is also an environmentally friendly product, tested and approved by the Carpet and Rug Institute. When the soil level calls for it, we also pre-groom the carpet with a carpet groomer or pile lifting machine. This further loosens soil in traffic areas.

Step 5: Extract and Rinse

Once the soil is loose, our truck-mounted hot water extraction process thoroughly flushes the carpet pile. We also regulate pressure and heat so the carpet does not get over-wet. This step also sanitizes and deodorizes your carpet. At Mountain View Carpet Care, we also go the extra step with a double extraction. This helps improve your air quality and speeds up drying.

Step 6: Neutralizer

We pH balance every carpet we clean, so no sticky residue stays behind. Depending on soil conditions, we apply this treatment as a rinse through the machine or after rinsing.

Step 7: Post Spot Treatment

If any spots remain after cleaning, we use specialty spotting techniques. We have written procedures for every situation. Note: Stains that the technician identifies as possibly permanent may not come out.

Step 8: Fabric Protection – Optional

If you choose it, fabric protection helps guard your carpet from both dry and liquid soil. So we recommend fabric protection after each professional cleaning to keep your carpet looking as new as possible.

Step 9: Speed Dry (Premium Package)

We place high velocity fans on the carpet to speed up drying and shorten drying time.

Step 10: Post Grooming

Then we set the carpet pile in one direction with a carpet rake. This improves the look and also helps the carpet dry.

Step 11: Post Cleaning Inspection

Finally, our technician walks through your home with you to show you the results. We want to make sure you are completely happy with the job.

What cleaning method do you use?

Truck-mounted hot water extraction, often called steam cleaning. After a walk-through and pre-spotting, the carpet is pre-sprayed with a conditioner approved by the Carpet and Rug Institute, then flushed with a double extraction while heat and pressure are controlled so it isn’t over-wet. Every carpet is pH balanced so no sticky residue stays behind, then groomed with a carpet rake. Hot water extraction is a recognized method in the IICRC S100 carpet cleaning standard and in care guidance from carpet manufacturers.

We serve 11 communities in Clark County, Washington: Battle Ground, Brush Prairie, Camas, Felida, Hazel Dell, La Center, Lake Shore, Ridgefield, Salmon Creek, Vancouver and Washougal. Do you offer every service in every area?

Yes. Residential and commercial carpet cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, upholstery cleaning, oriental and area rug cleaning, pet urine and odor removal, carpet repair and stretching, and water damage removal are all available in each of the 11 towns we serve. Owner Richard Grindland does every job himself, so you get the same process and the same person in Ridgefield as in Camas.

Do you clean commercial properties?

Yes. We clean carpet in offices, shops, clinics and apartment or condo hallways and common areas, with extra attention on entrances, hallways and break rooms, where business carpet wears first.
